The white fabric is 14ct Aida. It will be taller than it is wide on any evenweave. The natural unbleached Osnaburg is an unevenweave. It is 34ct one direction and 32ct the other. I chose to stitch that model so that it is a little wider, but still taller. You can see it works well on either fabric types. Osnaburg is an affordable option for those who love linen. It is 100% cotton in a weave that is very much like a cross stitch linen at a fraction of the price. Many Walmart stores carry it on the bolt for under 4.00 a yard. It can also be found dyed on Etsy and several other online sites. Uneven thread count per inch won't work on many charts, but it looks great on this one and many monochrome charts as well. Not so good on photo realistic charts.
